Cabarita - MTB Skills clinic

Clinic Dates:

Murwillumbah Sunday March 19 2023

Cabarita: Sunday April 23 2023

Murwillumbah Sunday May 14

Cabarita Sunday June 18

9am – 2.30pm

Book Here - https://www.trybooking.com/CGNCG

This course is designed to take it back to the fundamentals of your ride by building the right technique and the proper application of it. Aimed at the beginner to intermediate rider, in the morning we step you through slow and high-speed cornering, correct body position, braking and the effects of gravity.

After the sumptuous supplied BBQ lunch, we apply the mornings techniques to different areas of your ride - such as berms, nose wheelies, wheel stands, log roll overs etc. The good ratio of instructors to students means we can adapt the difficulty to the level of riders to make sure you are getting the maximum learning from each day.

Bring:

Bike - which is of safe riding condition.

We recommend that a bike shop do a safety check and service prior to attending clinic.

Australian approved helmet

Protective gear such as gloves, knee guards, elbow guards recommended.

Sunscreen

Water bottle

Supplied:

Morning tea, BBQ Lunch (inc vegetarian options),

Drinks, water on site, great instruction.

Cost: $50 pp

Tweed Valley Mountain Bike Club lifestyle and race members are free

Questions:

Do I need a mountain bike?

No. The lesson shall be conducted on a grassy flat area so a bike with sturdy tryes and good brakes is sufficient. The lesson is aimed at some more advanced skills in the afternoon so road bikes, cyclocross bikes, town bikes or anything with smooth tyres will represent a disadvantage to skill development.

Will we be on the skate park or BMX track?

The course is entirely run on flat grassy areas and we shall not be utilising the Cabarita Skate park or the Murwillumbah BMX track, despite being next to them.

Are we insured?

The club is insured for public liability and professional indemnity – however this does not cover personal injury or ambulance cover. We suggest club membership for effective coverage for against personal injury.

Who is a beginner rider?

A beginner rider is someone who can consistently and safely stop, turn in a circle both directions and start riding a bike without assistance, preferably off road.

How young can I be?
